Playground Guidelines
Some specific playground guidelines are important to the safety and well being of students and adults at Cascade Ridge Elementary.
Students will play on the sand field, blacktop, under the covered area and on the big toy.
Planted areas, portables, grassy hill behind the backstop and service road to water-holding pond are all out of bounds.
Students will show respect by:
- Keeping hands and feet to self
- Speak in a respectful voice (CA is a NO PUT DOWN ZONE)
- Refrain from pulling on others' clothes, fighting, (including play fighting/weapons) Karate & Judo
- Following directions
- Telling the Recess Teachers before they leave the playground
Students will use playground equipment in a SAFE manner by:
- Big Toy- Please walk only (no tag games)
- All Tag Games – On the Field
- Bars – Hold on with both hands
- Slide – Go down feet first (no running up the slide or “fancy tricks”)
- Safe Running is encouraged on the blacktop and field
- Kicking small yellow balls and soccer balls on the field.
Students may bring balls (no hard balls) and jump ropes etc. from home to share on the playground.
Electronics and trading cards are not appropriate for the playground.
Students are encouraged to participate in any/all games and to use any/all equipment available in the ballroom.
When the bell rings, all students must:
- Stop play immediately
- Quickly turn in all equipment
- Line up.
