The Mystery Guest
program will offer every student the opportunity to research, write, learn and
have fun. Here’s how it works: |
| |
-
Every student will
chose a famous real person or fictional character about whom they would like
to learn more. (author, inventor, statesman, athlete, etc.)
|
-
Every student will
be assigned a week during which they will offer the class written clues (one
per day).
|
-
During the week,
students will research and learn about their chosen person. Students will
work on writing a good paragraph about their person with interesting facts.
This all happens at home.
|
-
On Friday of their
assigned week, students will bring a costume to school, and during the
Mystery Guest part of the day, will dress as their character and read the
paragraph they wrote. The rest of the class will try to guess who
the person is. (The time of day is right after second recess)
|
-
Each Mystery Guest
will have his/her picture taken which will be placed in the Mystery Guest Book
along with the paragraph. This book will remain on display in the classroom
throughout the year.
|
- Parents are
welcome to attend the Mystery Guest appearance.
